Philadelphia 76ers’ Player Kelly Oubre Jr. Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident

Philadelphia 76ers’ basketball player Kelly Oubre Jr. was struck by a speeding car and injured while crossing a street near his residence in Center City on Saturday. The accident occurred at the intersection of Spruce and Hick streets. After striking Oubre, the driver fled the scene. Philadelphia police are still investigating.

Oubre was struck in the chest by the vehicle’s driver’s side mirror, suffering a broken rib and injuries to his right leg and hip. He was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition, where he was treated and later released. Oubre’s condition will be reevaluated in approximately one week before returning to practice with the team. Until that time, he will attend as an observer, the team reported.
