Female Pedestrian Killed by Car Near 30th Street Station
On Wednesday morning, a 56-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car near 30th Street Station in University City. The fatal crash occurred just after 6:00 a.m., as the pedestrian was crossing the street near John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Schuylkill Avenue, according to police.
Police state that the driver of the car was heading west toward I-76 when he hit the woman. The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with police, according to reports. The name of the deceased woman has not yet been released.
An investigation into the circumstances of this tragic accident is ongoing.
