Uber Driver and Three Passengers Killed in Philadelphia DUI Crash

Four people were killed in a Philadelphia DUI crash on the Schuylkill Expressway early on Saturday, April 15, 2023. Philadelphia police responded to the scene of the two-car crash with reports of entrapments and injuries near the City Avenue exit. Police found that one car had swerved across several lanes of traffic, struck a second vehicle, spun, and flipped before stopping on the right shoulder of the off-ramp. The car carrying the four victims was hit in the rear and shot forward into a bridge pillar on I-76 West.

Official reports state that the 31-year-old Uber driver and his passengers were found dead on the scene of the tragic crash. The driver of the first car was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries. They showed signs of impairment and was arrested for homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and related charges.
